Ongoing Pilates Mat and Prop Classes are a great time and a terrific work-out.The core, or what Pilates referred to as the Powerhouse, is emphasized, and all movements extend out from our abdomen, buttocks and inner thighs; imitating how our body developed. It is a sophisticated and intelligent system of exercise/movement being therapeutic and anatomically correct. All levels of students participate in each class as different degrees of difficulty are taught for each exercise or movement.. Muscular strength, flexibility & tone are improved, the muscles supporting and protecting the spine, the lower back and the abdomen are strengthened. Balance, coordination, overall body awareness & body/mind harmony & integration are enhanced. And… Classes are a ton of fun!

What you can expect from regular stretching…

Increases Flexibility – Stretching acts upon the various joints of the body including those joints that are never really on the ‘radar screen’ let alone exercised.
Increases Lubrication of the joints, ligaments and tendons – Regular stretching exercises all the tendons and ligaments of the body. This helps prevent degenerative arthritis or mitigate a disability.
Increases Muscle Tone – Muscles that have become flaccid or weak are stimulated repeatedly to shed excess flab and flaccidity.
