Getting the most out of your spa experience
If you have not been to a spa before then you can’t go wrong with a massage (55minutes) or facial (45 minutes). Generally menus at spas are full of different treatments and for those who have been before and love going to the spas, often choose two hour treatments, that include facial, massage and body treatments.
Don’t be fooled by the spender of some places, by the marble and gold, it doesn’t guarantee a good quality treatment. At The Haven training is on going, the owners are from England and see good on-going training as very important.
Drink plenty of water before and after your treatment, this will enhance the treatment and enhance the benefits to you.
It is advisable not to eat one hour before or 30 minutes to an one hour after treatment.
For your sake and for the best possible treatment, don’t arrive late, often spas are on tight schedules and have to finish for the next client so in effect you’re cutting your own treatment short.
During the treatment to gain the most benefit, be calm before your treatment, this means leaving plenty of time to get there on time, without rushing.
You will be covered at all times with large towels, so you can feel comfortable and warm.
When the treatment begins relax, and breath slowly and deeply, visualize your body relaxing.
Try not to chat too much, of course you can if you want to. Remember you could be distracting the practitioner who may not give as good a treatments, whereas others maybe not find it distracting. However it is important to communicate with your therapist, they need feed back – are you too warm or too cold, are you comfortable, is the pressure too much or too little? Let them know.
When the treatment is over do not get up too quickly.
We do have totally natural and organic products at the spa for you to use at home, but please do not feel pressurized to buy. Our staff, are just letting you know we have some unique products, not generally found in Panama.
Enjoy the experience of the treatment.
