Five years ago a husband and wife from England, Howard and Sonia Jones settled in the heart of Boquete with the sole purpose of setting up spas and alternative treatment clinics. One of them is a acupuncturist, the other is a naturopath, nutritional therapist and reflexologist. They brought with them a guy from Australia who specializes in joint and muscle work, in sports injury, who is also an acupuncturist.

The three have now worked together for nearly 10 years, treating all manor of ailments, and between them have 50 years experience and 18 years training in helping people with chronic problems. Since those early days, the team has grown.

They pride themselves on providing a high standard for all their clients, the team is constantly upgrading their skills and on-going training is seen as a very important aspect to the spa and clinic.

Languages at the Haven - most speak English and Spanish, a few speak Italian, French, and German.

THE FACILITIES

The facility is very close to town, however it is nestled in a tranquil area so you feel like you’re miles away. Set in peaceful gardens with just the sound of the birds and a babbling brook.

The gardens have been landscaped by Elliot Earle an American designer they include many tranquil areas, five fountains, a stream with small water falls, even a croquet lawn (being Brits).

Clinic treatments

The treatments at the Haven are varied, from acupuncture to deep tissue massage, joint and muscle work to naturopathic consultations.

Spa Treatments

If you are looking purely for a ‘spa pamper experience’ then look no further. There are a large variety of treatments you can choose from, to make your experience a memorable one.

You could choose our signature treatment from the spa menu ‘The Havenly Harmony’, is a complete experience, consisting of a body brush to help move the lymphatic system, a body scrub to detox and exfoliate, followed by a warm relaxing shower. Then melt away with a massage, plus a facial.

Or you could choose a aromatherapy massage to help the body relax, or detoxify, or help with general aches and pains, the choice is yours. Their aromatherapy wraps can help the body to detoxify and remove excess fluid, or simply float away with a hot stone massage.

For more specialist work there is lymphatic drainage massage, reflexology, ultra sound, deep tissue work, and low level cold laser. There are luxury pedicures or manicures. Spas are no longer the domain of women, world wide has seen a huge increase in men having treatments from facials to massage.

The principles take a case study which can take up to two hours, then a program is worked to suit your needs – for instance they have had a lot of success helping people with aches and pain, arthritis, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, weight loss problems and asthma. The program will have nutritional changes that suit your particular symptoms and needs, with a treatment program specially devised to help your condition as each person is completely different.

Be it a one off treatment, or a program held over a week-end, a week or a month, rest assured their years of experience and dedication to health will be evident.

After many many months of paper work they are registered here in Panama.
